Default Insurance rates going up?

I just received my new notice for car insurance, and I see that the rates have increased a little over 25% in just one year. I called the insurance company (Geico) and they said the rate increases are for everybody, not just me. Have others noticed an increase this year?

I have Geico, and mine did go up as well. It was a blanket increase, the amount determined by state I was told. Im almost positive it was directly tied to distracted drivers, or compensating for those accidents.

Hmm, my renewal is coming up in August. I've been using GEICO as well, but my homeowner's insurance agent has been diligently trying to get me to combine my auto and home policies. If the increase is significant, I might have to give him another chance to do some policy voodoo to see how it all shakes out.

Would others who see increases mind posting their state and the approximate percentage increase? I suspect CA has the largest increases, because CA, that go along with the increases in CA car registration fees as well. (This wacky state is a utopia for some, I suppose.)

I am in NJ and just checked, mine was minimal, nothing near what you got hit with. Mine was only a 4.3% increase, but i questioned it anyways.

My renewal is due very soon, also in CA, I'll check back in and report. It actually went down when I went from Audi RS5 to the 911.

I have Geico - no increase in Virginia. Or at least for me.

Not in the 911 yet but neither of my BMWs went up with USAA. New GTS Cab is actually quoted to drop a little from my current BMW. Could just be slightly more “newer” car credit.

California, USAA. Insurance went up 22% this year, they stated that California lost them a lot of money in 2017 and moved up several risk categories.

Geico providing laser equipment to police departments free of charge for speeding tickets must be paying off.

Mine (Geico) went up as well, about 20+%. This is not exclusive to P-car owners however. A guy I work with just went from approximately 4K annually to 5.5K for all of his cars. He has a top of the line Lexus sedan.

I've been AAA member for over 20 years and have my insurances bundled and multi-vehicle so I can't tell if massive increase for me for next renewal, especially since recently moving from Panamera to 911, I only saw slight increase I believe.

I have AAA and my insurance went up 10%. I have a bundled policy, no tickets and multiple cars with an excellent driving record.

Cali. Geico policy for my 991 and Lexus LS460 went up by about 13% when I renewed last month. Got quotes from other companies. Nothing came close, so I'm staying with Geico for now.
