Once again we wanted to showcase the ability to modify the 991 and 991.2 platform with a few pieces that can add the finishing touches to your personal taste. Not everybody has it in their budget, or simply the desire to upgrade their wheels on their Porsche, and our customer is a great example of this.

Many love the factory wing and aggressiveness the GT models of the 991 platform provide. But the GT models are not in many of our reaches yet in terms of budgets or needs. But the Techart Type 2 Wing is a wonderful alternative solution, and our customer agreed. We color matched and mounted the wing, while also blacking out the rear badges.

While the car was in our hands it was decided to install TechArt Springs and also 10mm Rear Spacers from H&R to give the car a wider rear track for handling and aesthetics.

This is a great start, with nice additions that compliment the factory design of the 991. This client can take it to the next level, or keep it just like this. You can’t go wrong.

While not to my taste I'm curious, has there been any testing of the positive or negative affect on the aero when this is installed? Or is this purely cosmetic?

Yes, extensive testing. All TechArt Aero products are designed and tested in their wind-tunnel. For more information on TechArt, their company and processes, click here.

Did you have to change front bumpers and or lower suspension?

It is not necessary to change the front bumpers but Techart does offer a front lip that works in conjunction with the rest of the Aero kit. This customer opted to lower his car and add spacers to give it a bit more of an aggressive stance.

What material is this made of?

These wings are available as painted polyurethane to color match to your car. You can also opt for either matte or gloss visible carbon!

In general I'm not a fan of fixed wings, but I'd make an exception here. It looks pretty cool when it is integrated into the back of the car, and doesn't just look like an afterthought bolted to the back. Good job.

TECHART 991 Carrera Rear Spoiler I

Has anyone installed a TECHART 991 Carrera Rear Spoiler 1 on their 991 carerra or Targa? I am curious how it mounts. Not sure if it replaces the entire factory spoiler or if it is mounted with double sided tape.

I think it looks fantastic. Now added to my wish list.

The pix on your web site should be a coupe, not a cab.

And many simply prefer a Carrera. Crazy, I know. 🙄

Don’t like the join of the top with the base of the wing, any option to make it in one piece?

Unfortunately this is the only way to install these wings as those pieces vary in size depending on if the car is a coupe, cab, or targa.
