Have any Targa owners converted the two rear seats to carry cargo/luggage?
With the reduced frunk space of the Targa 4 & 4S, I was wondering if anyone has been able to devise a solution that involved swapping out the two rear seats for some sort of enhanced cargo/luggage space.

I would like to remove the seats someday. For now, I have a temporary solution that works quite well.
I bought some high density foam and had it cut to form to the rear seat cushions. I now have a much larger, level parcel shelf when I fold the two rear seat backs down. I then had a canvas specialist fabricate an enclosure to protect the full rear area. It connects nicely to the rear cross member. My water dog can stretch out back there and I don't have to worry about mud, hair or scratches. For road trips, the full flat surface is more functional for luggage too. Accessing everything by moving the glass makes life so much easier. A surprise bonus I didn't count on. I have the setup stored elsewhere, but will gladly send you pictures in about two weeks if you would like. |
