Got my PCA plates and Tom's plate mounts...
Sometimes things happen in a way that just seem to be perfectly choreographed, without even thinking about it.
About 2 months ago I pre-ordered my Porsche Club of America personalized Texas plates. Since it was a new design, they were still taking pre-orders, and once they would hit 200 pre-orders they would be produced. There was no indication of how long it would take to get them, so I was just waiting patiently.
A few days ago I also happen to read about @Tom M'Guinn 's rear license plate mounts, and thought they look good and would spare me having to drill holes on my bumper, so I sent him a PM to order a set. He was very responsive and actually shipped them the very next day.
And just as I got confirmation that the mounts have been delivered, I got an email from the tax county office letting me know that my plates had arrived! Talk about perfect timing...
First I just want to say that Tom's mounts are really nice. It is a shame they will live in the shadows behind the plate never to be seen. In any case, the fit and finish, and the TWO PAGE super-detailed instructions are absolutely top notch. Just having included installation instructions would have been a nice surprise, but having taken the time to write such a detailed instructions made me realize that he really took pride on what he did. You can see his engineering soul all over them. Great job, thanks Tom! I remember someone posting on his thread that this was "a solution looking for a problem". I think they solve a very real problem as you eliminate the rattle from the plates due to the bass when playing music, you avoid scratches on the bumper from the plate frame as they are raised and neither the plate nor the frame rub against the bumper, and finally they allow you to avoid piercing the bumper and needing larger holes every time you have to change plates for any reason (from paper plate to regular plates to custom plates).
As I said, the fit and finish was perfect, as you can see in the picture below. Once centered using the notches on the mount to match with the raised lip on the bumper, they are perfectly positioned. You can see the center of the marking from the bumper dead center on the hole for the screw:
Total installation time was less than 5 minutes, including thoroughly cleaning the area to get a good adhesion surface for the 3M tape. This is what it looks with the 4 pieces in place:
And finally I was able to install my PCA plates on my 911T...
Why 911T.2?
1. A subtle reference to being a .2 991.
2. Since this is the version 2 of the 911T (the first being the one from 1968)
3. Because 911T was already taken!
Question: Any other states that offer PCA personalized plates?
If you have them, let's see them!
Cheers!

So you're the one that got that plate :-)
I've been toying with this once my current vanity plate expires - I've got a good one picked out - but that was my 1st choice.
cheers!

Thanks for the kind words on the mounts, and I love the PCA plates! Very jealous -- nothing like that in CA other than the "vintage" black and yellow plates.

The chrome plastic caps fit fine over the screws you supplied Tom.
