Default 2016 Black Edition value question

I have been looking at this 2016 911 Black Edition. The car has low miles and is in good mechanical order. However there are 7 or 8 rock chips on the hood. a number of them are deep. They are asking $78,880 for the car.
How much do you think this cosmetic flaw should devalue the car now and what do you think it will do to resale value?
I guess I would have to get the hood repainted. What would that cost?
Attached is the build sheet

Thanks very much,
CB

Rock chips are like death and taxes. Inevitable! I'm surprised that the dealer hasn't touched them up. Dr.Colorchip is the solution. Negligible effect on the value of the car for a few properly repaired chips. PPF for a permanent fix.

Black cars get rock chips that are more easily seen. All of these cars get rock chips. 7 or 8 wont be the last unless you get PPF. I don't think that has a massive impact on the price.

If you can't live with it then you need to pay for spot repairs, a repaint, and maybe a PPF.

Negotiate it into the price is probably your best bet.

Did Nick Murry do a little video on this car? Looked it over and noticed the chips on the bumper and hood? Must be the same car. It's a shame it didn't have a PPF installed. Black shows off those chips like nothing else. My car is black too but had the front end protected. Super glad I did. All that being said, it's probably not a deal breaker. Someone with experience filling those with a touch up brush could make them mostly go away.

I can live with spot repairs. How much would you ask them to take off the car?.
The sales guy is quite stingy. He told me at 78,800 there is no more profit in the car. It is as low as he can go.

I think the car is overpriced. How much time on the CPO? I bought a 991.2 CPO with admittedly more miles, but a better spec ($110k msrp), for less and with 4+ years of CPO for it. For that money I’d be looking at an S or a bit more fo a 4S. They’re out there.

He is lying. Yeah, I know, shocking.

If you think the price is reasonable then say yes but he fixes the paint, to your satisfaction, at his cost. That's the angle I would take - the dealer has a guy and they can do it for far less than the guy would charge you.

Potential win-win.

Yeah classic used car salesman. I am moving on.
I sold my 997.1 today. I dropped it off 2 hours south of me and came home with a certified check. Now I am free to buy from whomever not needing a trade from a dealer.

I am going to look for a 991.1 C2S for around the same money from what i have been seeing in the market.

If it was CPO the price would make more sense.

In Canada, CPO adds 2 years to the existing warranty (if any) with unlimited mileage. My recent 991 purchase provided me with warranty until 2022.

Residual value for the 2016 Black Editoon (msrp $100, less than 10k mi) car is around $73-$74.
