I was on a date in my 997.1TT when I got a flat tire. The whole sidewall ripped, so the tire was toast. Tried to call a flatbed, couldn't get one at all. Most towing companies wouldn't touch it because of liability issues, and the one towing company that would, couldn't get in touch with their driver. I ended up having to call a friend of mine with the same car and had him take the wheel off his car and bring it to me. That wouldn't work with CL wheels, or if you don't have a nice friend, lol.

Such an episode is a good test to see if the date is into you because of you or into you because of the car.

Iam in the same boat. If you know rural Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, you must know that the back roads can be pretty bad. A lot of nice places to stay and/ or eat have gravel driveways and parking lots and more often than not steep inclines. I took my Boxster once on a road trip to Maine. It was doable but not the most comfortable. Stopped in various places along the coastal route. We do an annual trip to Acadia and often to other places in VT. I prefer to take one of our Volvo wagons. Much more comfortable and they come with spares.

She was worth about $22 million so I don't think my used old 911 was of particular interest to her, lol!

I think that I will be able to "cram" it into the interior. Obviously this will have to be carefully checked before I proceed with the plan. Removing as much as practical of the back seat may help.

If I can't fit a rear wheel and tire in the interior, I will forego the 911 for trips to rural NE and use another car with a spare tire.

By rural NE, I don't necessarily mean the backwoods accessible only by rutted, steep, gravel roads. I locally lose cell phone coverage traveling on Highway 91 in Vermont north of Brattleboro, for example.

You can fit a full sized tire in the back seat ( and a second in the passenger seat if available).

Thats part of the kit for a compact spare ( fits inside the rim during storage. Also includes a lug wrench and some other tools.

I also bought tire plugs based after watching Nick Murrays video where the tire sealant comically just oozed out of his puncture. Plugs are probably more effective but may be difficult based on access. Rear tires will almost certainly need to be removed to extract the nail and place the plug so you will need a good jack too. I do wish there were run flats available in our size, which would relieve a lot of worry for drivers who live in rural areas far from dealers and where (any) roadside assistance is not a viable option.

For 5-lug set up:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9833...-mounting.html

It uses much of the frunk, but addresses the need for those of us that drive beyond happy dealer rapid service distance.

IMO, center lock wheels are for toys, suitable for the track or maybe within 100 miles from home, assuming home is near a dealer (or personal large valet).
