Default door leather problem

Hello Guys,

I have full leather doors and the bottom where the silver trim is located a little piece of leather is coming out, anyone had this before? I'm just wondering if taking the panel out or maybe just a plastic tool to press in the piece.

Grab a small flat head screwdriver and cover the tip with a microfiber towel or something similar and push it back in.

Yes, a plastic trim tool and push it back in - that takes about 30 seconds. I would not use a screwdriver (sorry Nino) as the metal can go through the cloth and damage the leather finish. Plastic trim tools won't hurt the topcoat on the leather.

If you have warranty left I would not touch it.

They will probably order you a new door panel if their interior person can't fix it.

For something simple like this, it's easier to just take care of it yourself. The knee-jerk reaction of taking everything to the dealer to be addressed is more trouble than it's worth for something easily addressed.

Exactly. They're not going to order a new door panel for that, anyways. I am in the leather furniture business and can fix that in less time than it takes me to walk across the room. ANYONE can fix that, just don't use a sharp object on it.

This person knows his stuff. I'm pretty sure I followed his guidance on sanding some scuffs out of my steering wheel and using some Blackrock Leather N Rich to help with the blending. Turned out great, it's invisible, I learned a new skill, and the dealer's detailer didn't have a chance to mess it up (even more). Listen to what he says!
