Default 991 Sports exhaust maintenance

Guys - being new to Porsche and my 991.14S, I find myself listening for all sorts of noises, probably unnecessarily. Noticed a mechanical slight noise on activating the sports exhaust, i.e., metal movement. Am aware that there are some form of external actuators that operate the flaps, but was just wondering if this is something that would need lubricated from time to time, and if so, how best to do that? Car has 14k miles.

thanks

On each side is a vacuum controlled actuator that operates an arm connected. to the flap inside the center crossover tube. At a minimum you can get under the car and watch the actuator operate to see/hear whether there is an issue. The actuator can be released fairly easily from the arm that controls the flap ... one spring clip either side, and then you can move the arm/flap manually .... I'll post more photos later today.

The actuator can be replaced fairly easy, the internal flap is inaccessible

PSE is a no lube/no maintenamce item. I suppose the actuator could fail, but I have 37 k miles since April 2012 and have had no issues.

If you do choose to put a dry high-temp lube on the ball or the butterfly's pivot I think you'd be fine. But I'd be careful not to get lube inside the actuator as it may harm the integrity of the seals or diaphragm.
