Default Making my 991.1 Carrera more visceral

I've had my 2015 911 Carrera for a month. Only mods are a short shift kit and an AWE exhaust (which is great). The car feels too soft to me and I'd like it to feel a bit more visceral like my old 987.1 CS. Any suspension mod/upgrade that might help that?

Standard C2 without PASM? If so, tons of options.

If you have PASM and want to keep it, Bilstein Damptronics is the way I would go.

Yes, standard c2. No PASM. What are my options?

Bilstein, KW, Ohlins, JRZ, Moton... pretty much any high end coilover. Which is the route I would go.

Ohlins DFV will likely give you what you're looking for on the damping front.

You could always get a Carrera T ... sorry couldn't resist!

In all seriousness, you should explore a pre-owned 991.2. Big difference in performance.

I think the options to make your car more visceral depend heavily on how you define “visceral” as it relates to a car. What does this mean to you? It’s a word that’s thrown around quite a bit on Rennlist, and I doubt that many people could define it. Does it mean louder? Stiffer ride? Better handling? Fewer creature comforts? Less technology? What made your 987.1 experience visceral? How you answer these questions is important. You could achieve the visceral driving experience that you seek by tearing out all the sound insulating material, putting a loud exhaust on the car, and removing the radio. You could achieve it by putting a stiff suspension on the car, and trying to remove weight. Success really depends on what you mean by visceral.

The word is typically used on Rennlist by people complaining about how the newest version of the 911 is too soft compared to previous generations. The 993 is raw and visceral compared to the 996. The 996 is raw and visceral compared to the 997. The 997 is currently the last raw and visceral 911, especially when compared to the 991. In the very near future, the 991 will be raw and visceral, and the 992 will be too bloated and soft.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
