Reeeeeally. Learn something new every day.

Then again, there was a time when floor mats were a head-scratcher for Europeans, no? Carpet to protect the carpet. Curious if that's still the case, or if most brands still charge for floor mats?

I remember my compete shock when I came across a 1997 Boxster on the dealer lot in 1997 with no options, not even floor mats. $39,980. The only one I ever saw like that. Black with a black top and a tan interior on 16-inch wheels.

How common is it to see a car there without them?

I typically drive press vehicles when in Germany, and these always have them. Curious what typical customers like?

Looks like Germans also get stuck paying for the smoking package, which is free in the U.S.

Every car has them...if you have a generous OPC they might give you mats with their name on it for free.
But during the last years you usually have to order it from Porsche.

There is even a more luxury version with leather lining possible...

I have two PTS cars. A 930 and a 997.1 among the small sample of fun cars...

I really like the odd, not often seen colors. Yet on my 997.1 they offered the color in 2009 as a standard cover so my 08 wasnt as special.

Love P car marketing. Best in the branding business.

Its a good thing! Too many (if that is possible) PTS cars out there! Let's keep it more limited.

Demand is still to strong for new price to have impact other than increase dealer and PAG sales margins.

Rather than PAG figure out how to better execute, they just raise $$.

Come sales slowdown and economic downturn, they will feel the pain of yearly price increases. They are close to hitting ceiling.

Keep those under employed, low income pretender P car owners out of the market.

PTS is for special people only.

^^^ PAG's ideal sheep ...

This is price gouging at its best. "Because they can".

It's definitely not free for them to change the line to run small production batches of special colors, I'd guess it's quite expensive depending on the volume - one-off's should probably cost more than that so those who are getting the "typical PTS" as Pete offered above are subsidizing the unique colors.

Still, I am guessing they price it to be profitable at a rate higher than their net 11-12% margins.

I still cringe at $150K Carrera S's or GTS's. The car is so good as equipped (with 2-3 options for customization) why give into the marketing?? You guys have to realize by now that we're paying a premium across the board for the badge (and what it offers), it's our fault - if we pay it they will price it to meet market.

You got me there. Not a yellow guy, but have a love/hate relationship with red—and probably would pay PTS money for Polo Red or Salsa Red over Guards on the right car. But it would have to be the right car, and I haven't seen a 991 to date that would get me there. Maybe a Carrera T would be super cool in Polo Red, but no PTS so far.

Color is a tricky thing…

My favourite colour is red, but on cars, I prefer dark blues. Your previous GR GT4 and current PTS 911 look choice though.

Porsche already limits PTS by making the price relatively expensive. It requires no action on our part. I would like to see more PTS though, 911s are exciting cars and the colour should say that.
