991.2 steering wheel spoke trim remove

Anyone have experience on how to do this? It doesn't seem to be a hard job but dealer is quoting $400 for it. I'm guessing once you remove the airbag it should be accessible to pop the spoke trim out. But I can't seem to find anything on RL, Google, or instruction.

any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not an easy job. Steering wheel has to be disassembled. Dealer quote is actually less than what I paid.

Thanks. This makes me think twice whether I should put in the black trims. But it looks so good!

Very worth it :-)

Yeah, I've done this a few times actually. I've got a carbon wheel as an alternative wheel I pop in once in a while. I guess I just like both wheels. They do have to be taken apart and re-assembled but it's not rocket science. It's more like Lego's really. Takes about an hour if you really take your time with it. It's not hard by any means. I prefer the silver surround to the black so I use that on which ever wheel I'm putting in.

Hi Alec - The dealer quoted me 2 hours with $200 per hour shop rate. Obviously knowing P dealer, it's not cheap. However, your response is aligned with my assumption that it should not take more than an hour. Is it true? The dealer told me their system is quoting 2 hours.

I wish you're local here in the Bay!

Wanted to ask if you would take the time to described what the steps are to remove the steering wheel, air bag, and then the trim? I don't think this procedure has been documented on the forum. Thanks!

Would love to see the instruction too if it's doable DIY!
