Back seat is the quietest spot in the 991 or 997, because your knees cover your ears. That space is best left for small children, small dogs, groceries or one hockey bag.

Went an hour from OC to LA each way with my brother and our better halves in a 997 C4. We're tall, and those two are not all that short—5'5 or 5'7, I think. While our wives didn't love being hunched forward, there wasn't a lot of complaining and that nighttime drive was memorable, as a 911 makes sure anyone over five feet sitting in back is leaning forward....so everyone is in the conversation together. The 991 would have, I suspect, been quite a bit more comfortable than that 997—though no one should be under any illusion that it's rear seats are good for anything other than "short trips" when it comes to transporting more than two adults (and what a nice option that is from time to time). On the other hand, I am finding the 991 just fine for two adults + one kiddo + kiddo's occasional friend—and I suspect it will only get better once a booster seat isn't needed back there...right up until junior high or so.

Shhhh. Apparently it’s our secret. The seats actually work!

I thought the backseat was for dogs and groceries. Never occurred to me to put a person back there. I learn something new on this forum everyday!
