I don't go anywhere that requires a valet.

I valet mine at hotels, I don't at restaurants. That said, I have Blackvue camera's in mine so that if they do anything to it or what to try a joy ride, I have video with time stamp and GPS info, and will let my insurance company go after them for any damage.
That said, there was a burglary ring that got busted who used to have guys working for a valet company who would get addresses out of the nice cars from the registration in the glove box and forward them to the ring. The ring would then scout out the house and next time the car showed up at a restaurant, the valet would tip the ring that the folks were out and they could hit the home. As with all such folks, they got greedy and a pattern was found, and they were all wrapped up on a sting. I have a feeling this might be a common thing.

In the city, I pay the $40+ to keep it up front - and take the key with me or I drive another one of my cars that I don't care about. The city lot spaces are too tight - 100% guaranteed to get a door dink.
If I can park on the street in the 'burbs and hoof it - will do that. Drop off the wife + friends and then park blocks away once I find the optimal spot. It's like watching my dog find a place to sit - lots of circling and eventually settle in to the perfect spot.

Look at all the over-weight peple in America. We need to start parking 2 miles from our offices and restaurants, and hoof it.

Honest to god - I went on a diet to lose a few to better fit in the tight seats of my Radical. Another reason on the long list of reasons to buy a race car - it's good for your health.
