Centerlock conversion to 5-lug?

Centerlock conversion to 5-lug?
Guys - what's the latest on converting from a CL wheel to 5-lug? CL wheels are a major PITA as I do track the car and need to be out from under the dealership when it comes to changing tires ($350 last time I did it, and took half a day). Is it possible to go from CL to 5-lug? what would I have to change out?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Why not buy the CL tool, torque wrench and wheel mounting guide instead?

I may if I can find a reasonable cost for the torque wrench, but from what I understand it's not easy to do in any case - requires quite a bit of effort, has to be tightened, loosened and tightened again, etc.; Also, the options for wheels are minimal.

I can't image the swap to 5 lug would cost you anything less than 3k probably between parts and labor.

I struggle with this same question. I bought the Precision torque wrench/breaker bar combo. They come up for sale from time to time for around $350 used on the Rennlist part forum. I know of one person that made the conversion to 5 lug 19" wheels. First, there are only a couple of wheel manufacturers (Forgeline and HRE) that will make the wheels that will fit. In addition, one bolt has to be cut from the control arm to permit the fit. The main reason for doing this was the lack of tire selection. There were, until recently only the OEM tires available. Now, Hoosier and Toyo are making 20", but they are not much less in price.
I will stay with the CL's until I have to change out bearings, hubs and CL bolts and locks, after that I will probably convert as the parts cost will be less than replacing the CL parts. I would love to find a way to acquire the tool that Porsche uses to install the wheels at the factory.

I'm in the opposite camp here:
Looking at 991.2TTS's and found one with a great spec but has the 5 lugs... What would go into swapping from 5 lugs to CL's??
I much prefer the look of the RS Spyder CL design.

Burning Brakes
I purchased this torque wrench-breaker bar combo on sale over a year ago for under $300. Buy a cheap spreader from Harbor Freight to hold the brakes for the front wheel(s). I personally think it’s easier and more convenient to have a CL vs. 5 lugs. CL is just one big lug. Also, if I blow my tire while out driving, my baby will be on a flat bed since vast majority of us don’t carry spares in a 911, CL or 5 lugs.

Man, a 5 lug TTS would be perfect. Why would you ever want to put a centerlock on? Stranded with each screw in the tire is never fun. Recreational centerlocks suck.

Mainly for the looks and that they're a little wider.
But since I'd already purchased all the tools to do them, I'd just be waisting that money not to have a CL car.
However your point is valid for a street car. Some others feel the same.

Surprised this is an issue. I bought the wrench/breaker bar set and paste upon getting my C4 GTS theorizing it was better to have and not need than need and not have tools. Once learn and follow the procedure a couple of times it's simple. It has helped that I have the wheel and tire package.

I like this idea too, have been wondering about swapping parts with someone like the OP!

I hate CL's. What a PITA. Looks cool but not practical. 5 lugs are so much easier to change. The concept of the CL is good but in reality it's a PITA. I found this kit from suncoast but not sure:

I wonder if the conversion is possible the other way as well, 5 lug to CL?
This kit seems very cheap for what all is included, almost too good to be true.
