Good info. Nice work guys.

Funny. I've never used my blade key in 52,000 miles. But it does hold the key chain together.:)

I never used it but (a) because OCD :surr: and (b) what if I loose the other one?!

Funny, when I bought my 2015 GTS , I bought a third key from the dealer As I recall, it was close to $300. I then had to take all 3 keys to the dealer. The new one to be cut and all 3 to be reprogrammed. That cost the shop rate. Seems I got had and did not have this information previously. This is a very valuable resource.

You will only need the blade key when the battery is dead and you have to open the door. But even that is useless because once the door is open, you can't open the frunk to get to the dead battery because the frunk is controlled electronically. Ha, ha, the joke is on us.

I remember once asking why do we have a blade key, and RL reminded me that we have a lock under the driver's door handle. I did not know that. Ha.

Lol, I owned my car for over a year before I even knew it existed. Even then, I went out to the garage and looked under the handle to see if there really was a key hole there.

The blade is also used for the glove box. I keep it locked and found out my blade was missing after valeting at Prime 112 in South Beach.
