Default No oil change in 5 years - walk away?

Hello,

I am looking to buy a 2013 Porsche 991 4s PDK with 10.500 Kms, but realised that the car haven't been serviced.

This means no oil change since 2013 (5 years!!).

Should I walk away, or is it OK if a major service is done. The car will also be delivered with 12 months Porsche Approved warranty.

Thanks in advance!

Buy the car - change oil and go! ( I don't think it will self destruct...) Now, if it had 100K miles it would be a different story.

Why take the risk? Perhaps I'm haughty, but my view is that if you're going to spend, say $65k on a 911, why wouldn't you spend $5-10k more to get the right car?

They're out there. It just takes work to find the one. Stuff like no service in five years is a red flag. Why be long that risk to save $5k?

Car only has 6K miles on it!

It's fine. So the car sat and barely got driven. Have dealer service it and it's good to go if it's been well taken care of other than sitting. Also a good deal $$.

Something is Wrong here. It Shouldn't have a CPO warranty unless routine maintenance has been done. Unless the CPO is transferring in a private party sale, and was purchased five years ago and in which case, yes, walk away

We definitely need more details on the story here!!

Someone drives a new car 6,000 miles over five years and doesn't do an oil change, you guys really think the car is compromised? Oil doesn't go toxic after 5 years.

On the other hand, guys here say it's ok to buy a PCNA tracked car that's been beat to hell for 6K miles. Can't win.

Should completely fine. With 6k miles on the car, you could probably just change the oil/filter, plugs, and maybe the tires and go.

How do you know it hasn't been serviced? Just wondering since many here are DIY enthusiasts so their changes won't show up on dealer records or CarFax (unless they use the MyCarFax app and enter there... something I imagine many don't do). Like previously stated, the CPO certification you say it has should have led to an oil change and possibly more (depending on years on the car when CPO'ed) if the dealer had no record of it otherwise.

Thanks for all the replies. I am very interested in this exact car because of the spec, KMs and price (been waiting for a car like this for +6 months).

The car is for sale at an authorised Porsche Dealer, but on behalf of a private person. This means that I have to pay extra for CPO / Porsche Approved, but they are willing to guaranty me that it will be "Approved". Large service is included in the price.

The sales man told me the car belonged to an older gentleman, who passed away. The car is therefore being sold by his wife.

@StormRune: I dont. But the Porsche Dealer says is hasn't been done according to their system.

If everything else checks out, and it's the deal for exact car you been looking for don't let this hold you back. Go for it.

Walk. It's been neglected. What else wasn't done if the former owner(s) can't be bothered with basic servicing.

If you wanted to know for sure, have a used oil analysis done by Blackstone or whomever, and see what condition the oil is in. So basically, write the deal pending oil analysis. Not sure the dealer would agree, but you never know.

I'd assume it is absolutely fine.
