Default Question about replacing front spoiler lip?

I am sure most who have owned these cars for any length of time will have to do this. Mine is a 991.1 GTS and the front lip is pretty thrashed after 9K miles. Suncoast lists a Sport Design Lip and GTS Lip. Are they the same?
Are the optional rivets necessary as it looks like it just snaps on? I can get the replacement carmine red paint from Dr Colorchip. Did you take it to a bodyshop to have it painted well or just do it yourself. I may just put the shiny new painted lip in the corner of the garage in case I ever want to sell the car or win a concours

Not certain about the 991, but I had a 997.1 TT and replaced the lip it with the unpainted black one which I liked the looks of better. Had the painted one repaired, but just gave it to the buyer when I sold the car.

Thanks for the reply. The front lip on mine is pretty large, painted body color and looks like an extension of the bumper, so I'm not sure how good it would look all black.

The Sport Design and GTS are the SAME. Need pro body shop painting. NOT a DIY. Only come in primer.

The rivets may be clips or something that may need replacing when switching out. Only a few bucks, get them.

The Aerokit Cup one fits too. A more aggressive look if you like that.

I purchased the aerokit cup spoiler, my dealer sent it to a local body shop who painted it for less than $100.

Installation may be a DIY.

But the paint and prep are most definitely not. Unless, of course, you own a paint and body shop.

Thanks George. I thought they were the same. Wonder why Suncoast lists as different.

Have had to replace my 991.1 GTS front spoiler lip a couple of times. I have gotten the aerokit spoiler from Suncoast which I like the looks of better than the factory spoiler. My professional paint job has cost a couple hundred bucks both times. It is easy to remove and replace. Just pull off and snap on. The rivets help hold it on. You will see the small holes in which they fit. They are not obligatory but like STG said, worth the few extra bucks.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like everyone uses a professional paint shop . Did you let them get the paint as they will know how much they'll need?

Bodyshop using paint code and mixing their own paint.
