Just emailed my dealer.... Offered a 3K deposit on one. He said I was first on the list but they knew nothing about if it or when it will come to production but he would hold a deposit.
The last one in 2011, based on the 997, had a starting MSRP of $ 205K. Most came in (as I recall) around $ 250K or so. This will not be an inexpensive buy.
The last one was based off a 997 Carrera S too!! Not a GT model.
By the looks of the center exhaust I would guess this is a R Speedster. If that's the case there will be a feeding frenzy on this one. If the production numbers are under 2k, there will be enough for non-918 buyers to get half of them. R-Rated may have a winning lotto ticket!

yes, more unobtainable than any other GT product, save the R. This has been a confirmed rumor for at least 18 months on the GT3 forum. Numbered car, going to be both expensive and crazy markup.
Convertible top is a disguise. Expect Boxster Spyder style manual top.
