Default Mirror glass types

Based on the parts catalog descriptions:

Driver side mirrors come flat or aspherical (to reduce blind spot).
Passenger side mirror are convex.

Q:
What is the difference between aspherical and convex?
Do only the convex mirrors have the additional printing (objects in mirror are closer than they appear) or does the aspherical mirror also have it printed?

the drivers side has a split in the glass so objects are actual and not smaller. The split portion is at an increased angle so you see more of the other lane. It's a good setup, had on my 996.

Got it. I ordered the split mirror for the driver side - looking forward to getting it. Thank you!
