Agreed. Are you not doing any type of progressive running in of the engine? I did and am happy with the result so far. If you aren't, it will be interesting to compare any differences as our cars age, given the similar build and how they are being used.

Ran mostly up under 4500 rpm most of first 100 miles. But did do one quick pull to near redline after about 75 miles. I’m more of school that motor shouldn’t be abused for first couple hundred miles but should also see some variation in rpms including some quick pulls to near redline. No problems with 9A1 motor in past using the same approach.

...Oh and cant say that T I test drove fared so well. LOL!

Like the 9A1, the 9A2 is near impenetrable out of the box. When the 9A2 was introduced, there were many discussions as to how closely derivative it is of the 9A1. Both are great motors, works of performance art (if you will) by Porsche.

I took mine out the other day in NY. As long as it's dry and the weather is above 40, I drive it. I do worry a bit about all the potholes though. I also keep scanning the classifieds for winter tires and wheels, but now I read here with RAS you have to be selective about which ones you get? Didn't realize that.

In the meantime, this keeps me satisfied during the winter months:

+1 (I'd be honored to share the best plate with your beautiful Miami Blue car. ...Just make sure when you blow past speeding cameras that they can make out that you are the one from NJ)

Help! manual T owners.
Ive been hearing a "Chime" noise much like a text message but no messages, no alerts on dash, no speed limit settings. Finally traced it to a mechanical rear end noise. I can duplicate it by accelerating normally in either 2nd, 3rd or fourth then abruptly lifting off the throttle. Drove me nuts for a while and will stop by dealership but curious if any other T owners with manual gearboxes have noticed this "chime" noise.

Have not noticed this. Not outside temperature-related then? Does it only occur in Sport mode?

Default Package shelf

T at rest

Package shelf completed. Center sections open up, room for a helmet on each side. Completely reversable in about 45 min. to Std. seats. Uses existing mounting points - no holes. Final touch will be getting strap hardware coated Miami Blue. Only rudimentary carpentry skills required.
