Does the manual say 10k? My (UK) Carrera T has now done 10,300 miles since early April and my car’s computer is telling me that the first oil change is not due until 20,000 miles.

I think the US and EU manuals say different things on the matter. I'd go ahead and change it at 10K.

cheers!

Yes the US manual lists the first oil change at 10K miles. I have an appointment next week for oil change. Currently at 4500 miles.

Default New T, first impressions under 250miles

I subscribe to a thought that every informative writing should be in bullet points, so I’ll be brief.
  • 2019 delivered with 8 miles a week ago
  • Currently ~ 240 miles, drove in cold dry and wet conditions (no snow)
  • Put on winters at delivery (Michelin Aplin PA4)
  • Love the engine sounds and noise level (not too loud at all)
  • Bose - perfect sound option (for me not being an audiophile but still enjoy crisp sounds)
  • RAS - I get the difference but still don’t feel is a must option. Glad I have it and the price paid was perfect as an option I bought in fear of missing out. No downside. No regrets.
  • Sportex - very impressed of the rigid feel and grip! VERY HAPPY.
  • Drive - We all know it’s fun as hell but I’m having a tough time while break-in...”my manual” says after 1000miles, I’m good.
  • MT - Love the crispness. Don’t feel it’s rough at all.
  • Winters - Much THANKS to those who gave solid advice on getting winters. This is actually my first time I’ve ever owned a set of winter tires and boy what a difference it makes. Full confidence in taking my T out and enjoy it whenever. Cuts through water like hot knife through butter too.
  • Really want to push this car once ready for prime time
Not so brief afterall...

Very nice, jkyrennist. Agree with all your points. If I find a good set of rims, I'll do the winter/summer tire thing, but for now am waiting for 45+ days. I've been doing winter/summer on my DD WRX for about 4 years and love it. Just wait until there's snow on the ground.

I finally got the call Friday afternoon that my car was at the dealership. My daughter and I headed down to Fresno on Saturday morning to pick it up. Following jkyrennlist's example of "bullets are best":
  • Super pleased with Porsche Fresno. Yesterday was the first time I had set foot in the dealership; I chose them based on CJ Wilson's reputation for being a straight shooter, and this is how things turned out. I don't have a dog in the dealership hunt, but if you like what he has to say on Rennlist, then you'll like doing business with them.
  • My car came with Michelins; I know a lot of other folks are getting Pirellis these days; it looks like I lucked out.
  • This break-in period is going to be tough. I'm going to try really hard to be good about it, but the car feels like that girlfriend who encourages you to do things that you know you shouldn't. And we all know how that ends up.
  • I'm glad that I optioned the front axle lift system. My street is crowned AF (as the kids say). I'm not sure that I could get in/out without scraping the front, even if I take it at an angle. I haven't gotten out and measured with a ruler, but it sure feels close.
  • I dropped the car off for PPF/tint/ceramic today. So my 24 hours with it are over... back to a waiting game, but at least now it's mine.
Here's the picture that I've been waiting months for! Good times...

Congratulations on your new T! Great color choice also
Mine also came with Michelins and I feel like I won the lottery. Had P-Zeros on my A6 and HATED them.

They don't seem to have the standard rims (Carrera S) and option to remove decal .

the new shirt design and art are with the standard rims - that is what I specifically emailed and inquired about! less than 24 hours later, new designs available. shoot an email to remove the side stripe and he'll do it!
