After-market speakers?

After-market speakers?
I've got a '17 GTS Targa with the Bose stereo system. Not sure why, but certainly sounds to my ears like the Bose system isn't as good as it used to be (had it in 3 prior 911s). Wondering if anyone has replaced the stock Bose speakers with something else that sounds a lot better? Any suggestions? I don't want to change the look of the interior of the car at all, nor do I want to get into something that's really complex. Just wondering if there's a relatively easy and superior after-market solution out there.

Here would be a good thread to look at. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9665...r-upgrade.html
There are some other threads too.
I've been watching some of 12v Nick post. Looks like something that can get you on your new quest.

I just moved these tweeters from my 991.2 Turbo S over to the new GT3 Touring. Very nice upgrade, highs are MUCH brighter, while maintaining a 100% stock appearance.
Unfortunately I ordered extended dash leather on this car and now the nice leather trimmed Bose tweeter grills are binned... in exchange for the plastic Burmester grills that Nick includes with his kit.

Thanks, H2H and Gunner! I just sent Nick an email to see what's currently available. And despite the fact that the DIY install is probably pretty easy, I'd prefer to have an installer who really knows what they're doing tackle the job. Anyone have a recommendation in the SF-Bay Area?

What part of Bay Area? In San Jose I would recommend Audio Design. Mike and his crew do all the installs for Stevens Creek Porsche and other dealers. They did a great job on my GT4.

If you don’t want to DIY, I highly recommend Marty Barry at Custom Mobile Electronics in Novato. His shop is now part of GMP Cars. They do great work and regularly work on high end cars. Marty’s shop has installed electronic equipment on all of my cars since I first went to him in 2005.
That said, this is not a difficult DIY, and while I easily could have had Marty’s shop do the tweeter upgrade, I chose to do it myself. No car was harmed in that process!

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll likely give your guy, Marty, a shout. As easy as the video may be to follow (and I did take a look at it), I still don't trust myself. I got none of my father's handiness!
