Keyless entry Luggage Compartment Lid

Keyless entry Luggage Compartment Lid
I just picked up my 2018 Porsche Carrera.
It has the keyless entry system and to open the luggage compartment lid using the keyless entry system you have to go to the front of the car with the electronic key in your pocket, and place your hand under the front badge.
The problem is that if I get to three feet of the front of the car the compartment opens. This is pretty inconvenient.
The tech I spoke to at the dealers was baffled saying the issues they have is the compartment not opening not this.
Anyone else has had this issue? Would the proximate sensor be programable? and last but not least if the unit needs replacement how is it accessed? Do not want the front part of my car torn apart as yet.
Thanks

I'm on my second keyless entry Porsche, and I've never had it open simply by proximity. My '15 Cayman S was actually kind of finicky, and you often needed to search out the spot to touch before it would open. My '18 CGTS is not finicky at all, but still requires contact (albeit just a slight tap with a finger) to open the hood.

For my 2015 I have to get my hand 1-2 inches from the area to get the frunk to open. No touching of the car is required for me just a moment of patience.
3 feet away is some incredible range! I doubt the range is programmable but others may know more.

The only way I've had the trunk open from that distance is via power washer, if the key is in my pocket. Otherwise, it requires that you come pretty close (couple of inches). Definitely something amiss.

Yes the tech said he had never heard of this before as well.
In fact when I was collecting the car the sales person (very helpful in every way) walked to the car put his hand on the lid below the badge and nothing happened so he pushed the **** on the fob to open. I did not say anything and assumed it is a feature that I did not buy.
This is an inconvenience and more than likely will need a replacement proximity sensor or whatever it is called.
My concern is what does it take to get to it. If it means taking the bumper etc. off I will probably pass and leave it as is.
What I hate about newer cars is lack of availability of workshop manuals to the consumer.

Same here, if I'm hosing off the front after washing with the key in my pocket, it will open the frunk almost every time.

some one needs to identify the part that is the sensor, then there may be a way to obstruct it or cover it so it is less sensitive. Simular trouble with mercedes and I made mine work %100

The plot thickens, just went to the car and it no longer does that. In fact it now needs hand contact and a little time, I picked the car up when they had just detailed it for pickup and maybe somehow some water got somewhere ti should not. Just have to wait and see what develops.
Anyway I know know exactly where the sensor is and to get to it you have to take off the front apron. There is no danger of water getting to it unless your drive the car into a lake.

Here is a diagram of the part/s. Refer to item #20 or part # 7PP962132. Also, two actuators are located at the latch or locking mechanism.
