The Carrera T is a fantastic car and a good value..,

If that's how you were going to option your Carrera anyway. Otherwise it's not.

That is all.

PS - Mine can't get here soon enough!

Don't know about a 'gift'. Are Porsche that generous? But I too can't wait for my incoming T.

As with just about every non-GT car, of course Porsche could have gone a little further or done a little better. But for me, the release of the T is perfectly timed. I like pretty much everything about it. And even though I love the thought of a GT3, in real life, the T is almost certainly a better option as a high mileage daily driver (18k miles a year).

Having said that, if offered a slot at list price for a GT3 with Touring Pack...

Roll on our T collections...

Stout posted a while back that it would be nice if Porsche built a 250 NA HP horsepower that weighed 2500 lbs in the 50k range I believe. Not sure I got his post correct. I’d want that too!

Can customer choice ever be a bad thing?

I have ordered my T with regular glass, and a heated rear screen, as mine will be a sole car and daily driver here in the (often chilly) UK.

It still has the 7-speed manual transmission though.

Back on topic...the T is a great car. Wasn’t available when I ordered my GTS.

It'll be a gift after I buy one used, in a few years.
Else, it's simply market diversification by a major truck manufacturer, cleverly disguised as dedication to the loyal customer base.

Agree on your first point.

I was actually on the point of ordering a GTS (as a friend found a dealer with an unsold build slot) but with the options I wanted, it would have been quite a stretch of my budget. Then the build slot for a T emerged and the rest is history...!

i think you got it right. The GTS (hang on let me put on my flame suit) is borderline too fast for public roads. The C2, C4 or T is perfect.

Cheers, Mike.

To be honest, I thought that my previous 991.1 C2 was plenty fast enough for public roads. (I am unlikely to track my T.) So the 991.2 Carrera T should certainly be adequate with more power and torque, plus the nice sporty features of the T spec.

I, for one, love my T. I wouldn't have bought a 991 if it hadn't been for the T (so for me, it was a "gift") - I don't want a unicorn car at this point in my life, that's just not me. I don't want to have to worry about pulling out of the garage, I want a useful, everyday sports car.

Now, ask me in 10 years about locating a "classic" Carrera GT :-) That car does haunt my dreams.

^this exactly to a “T”. The only thing I’d add is the “T” has a special sauce, which essentially is what you describe above, that differentiates it enough to be unique to the Porsche geeks like us.

Every car more than 200hp is too fast for public roads. I believe is personal taste the wide selection of 911 models.

No matter what you choose you can't go wrong with any 911.
