Drifting
This is great - thank you all! Since I’m considering base models - 2013 C4 vs C2 - interested in thoughts about power. I’ve driven a number of the C2 models and power is fine - not overwhelming, but good enough for me. For those that have driven both, should I expect to see a meaningful difference in power with the C4? Assume not but again, can’t find a C4 locally to test drive.
C4 and C2 should have same power. Obviously the AWD adds some extra weight. And C4S has same engine & power as C2S.

I went through the same dilemma when shopping for my 991.2
Went C4 over C2
I like that the C4 is more "rare" (dont know or care to explain why), and much prefer the looks of the C4 to C2 with wide body + killer looking light bar (in my opinion)
Then it came down to C4 vs C4S for me, I wanted base engine as in the .2 it is perfection *to me* with the right amount of useable power for fun daily and spirited weekend drives, and I am crazy but wanted they grey (standard) brakes to match my grey/silver/black theme vs the brighter reds
Also - RWD on the C2 will make it more fun and the rear might feel more frisky (as many would argue a 911 should feel), but I love love love the immense AWD grip entering and exiting corners...the car just feels literally glued to the asphalt

I have a 991.1 C4 PDK. I would also consider myself a rear wheel and manual purist. I have not been disappointed in the C4, I second the immense grip the AWD gives you. I can't get it to break free on MPS 4S tires in the wet nearing full lock on twisty roads, I just don't have the courage.
While a C2 provides more accessible fun the C4 has given me an appreciation of what AWD can do, I look forward to exploring it's limit on a track. On back roads my wife will hit me in the shoulder as I try to break it a free a little... telling her the car shouldn't be this composed. I have had her crying as I'm giggling nervously in disbelief, it's a different sort of fun.
You'll be happy with either, I do not regret having the C4, and the wide body and light bar are a little more 'rare' and quite good looking.

If I were daily driving year round I'd have a base C4. That said, I've winter driven several rear wheel drive sports cars and it's absolutely doable!
I may very well take my own advice and replace my Golf R with a second 911 in a few years, probably PDK so my wife can drive it .

It's more the driving dynamic and aesthetics if you have equal access to a C2 and C4 (C4 is harder to find/get)

I have had (leased for 27 months) a 2015 C2 and now own a 2014 C4, both with PDK. The C4 has a much better road feel to me. The C4 glides through long hard corners where as the C2 sort of dips through corners. The C4 has PSM and that really helps. My wife use to complain of car sickness brought on by my spirited driving up PCH in NorCal, and around Tahoe. Now when we go out on long drives she simple talks about the scenery and the location of the next Starbucks.
I have had both and the C4 is the way better ride to me and to my wife.

I've had a 2013 C4 daily driver for 3 years and love it. The first owner had a set of winter tires but no extra wheels so the first thing I bought was a set of Porsche wheels for the winter tires. Change them in March and October. Although having no comparison, 350 hp. is more than sufficient. I'm keeping and driving this car forever.

Look at all these C4 owners crawling out from the ground!! I thought me and subshooter were the only ones

I drove a 4S for 4 years after owning 4 previous TT’s. All widebody and AWD Porsche’s. I love the look and the handling of the Porsche “big butt” cars. Excellent handling, so sure footed on any road and beautiful to look at. When I sold my 4S I moved to another widebody AWD car in the TTS. Don’t think I could own anything else. Get what you want, regardless of others opinions and regardless of weather unless severe.

IMO for winter/wet conditions, tires are much more important than RWD vs AWD in a 911...If the conditions were such that I would be tentative taking out a C2 with winter tires, I don't think having the AWD of the C4 would change my opinion
