Does someone have step by step photos of the hardwire installation into the mirror. I'm a little nervous about taking it apart.

Clearly there was a problem with filtering; I upgraded the firmware to the current (V1.7 for me) and it's doing a much better job at filtering, likely at the expense of range. Given that, I decided to get a new detector for the 911 and opted for the Uniden R3. Had to order a new BlendMount but the hard wiring is already there.
Have you received your R3 yet? How does it compare with the Escort Max 360? I wonder if the 360c performs differently than the 360. It's much smaller, which is nice, and has the Wi-Fi connection, which I don't care about, though if it updates itself while sitting in the garage, I guess that's not a bad thing.

No, I'll get it Wednesday and the BlendMount on Thursday. My initial thought was to just get a 360c for the 911; it, also, would have required a different BlendMount than the one used for the 360. The WiFi seemed like a good thing but it's practically irrelevant. I like the arrows on the 360 but they were SO slow to respond I didn't trust them (although this may be better with the newer firmware; I hadn't updated it in at least two years.) After doing some online research I opted for the R3.

I love my K40. New receivers are updated to filter out false K-band from LCA. If I had to choose I would go with K40 again. I had an Escort 9500ci in my previous car and it was disappointing compared to my current K40.

You guys all seem really knowledgeable about this stuff, great source of info for me so thanks everyone

Living in California, would the Uniden R3 be a great one stop shop/jack of all trades for *helping* raise awareness/reduce getting tagged by a LEO?

I wonder if I did get pulled over whether the LEO would take kindly to having the RD mounted right on the windshield...

To those doing the hardwire install w/ blend mount, feel free to post here how it goes.... I am thinking of trying to do the same once my car arrives (hardwire + blend mount + Uniden R3)

Thanks. How long ago did you get it installed?

It was installed on my 2012.5. The front receiver went bad and I replaced it with the updated receiver that eliminates virtually any false K-band alerts. I have front / rear radar and front lidar shifters. Installed with GPS, remote which lives in the center console, and LEDs are in the vents (left and center). Speaker and head unit are near the left fuse box. To me, it's a great setup. Successfully avoided a lot of LEOs on speed patrol.

sounds sweet. If you have a chance I’d love to see pictures. I’ve never seen the LED’s in the vents!

I used this DIY for my install: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8047...re-of-dog.html

Here's a tip, get a longer tap than what he recommends. Better to have a little extra cord up inside the plastic surround by the mirror as opposed to having a wire that's too short and having to order a longer one.

This blog post describes the difference between the R1 and R3. There is almost no K band used by LEO in CA, so you don't need the R3's K band filtering option, you can just turn K band off in the R1 and save $100. As described, you miss the red light camera locations, but Waze can help with that. Just a thought.

R3 arrives today. Blendmount arrives in 3 days. If the weather holds up i'll get some quick rides in with the R3.

I'm very happy with my Max 360. It has saved me several times over the past year. I also like running the Escort Live app on my phone with it as well. I have it hard wired and on a Blendmount. Couldn't be happier.
