Default Satin Platinum replacement wheel does not match

After of only a month of ownership of my first Porsche, 2014 4s with only 5k miles on it I was struck by some extra long lugbolts sticking out of the front wheel of a semi when he attempted to change lanes into me. Luckily the only thing injured was my front left wheel. The truking company’s insurance paid for a full suspension inspection and a new wheel from Porsche. Well....... the wheel finally arrives, they put it on the car and voila! Its several shades lighter than my other 3 wheels. It is very obvious with old centercap in place. So my service guy ( who is fantastic) chalks it up to a bad paint batch and orders another...drumroll........same lighter color. Platinum Satin part numbers match up exactly. Maybe my wheels are the weird ones? Found some photos of 2014 991s with satin Platinum and they are all dark grey like mine.. maybe the formula changed after 2014? Here are some picks of my car with the new mismatched wheel and a couple 2014s with darker satin platinum like mine. My advisor sent the wheels back to poresche and filed some sort of claim to move this up the chain of Porsche NA.

Dont see anything wrong with the blue and white cars. However you made me think twice before using my perfectly matching my VIN touch up paint for small rock chips

Bummer about the mismatch. The white 2014 C2S is mine and the wheels are dark. I was just wondering if you can order touch-up paint for the wheels. But now I'm wondering even if you can will it match?

My tires match....but I had not washed them for many many months thinking it did not need washing. The wheels gradually turned darker and darker matching my exhaust tips.
I recently washed them .....and not happy I did. Next time I will leave them alone and let the brake dust accumulate so that my exhaust tips and my wheels match. Added benefit is that you
never have to wash your wheels again and nobody will know the difference.
Below is the color of my clean wheels from a long time ago before I installed the dual exhaust tips

and the color of my exhaust tips which the wheels later matched when they got dirty.
Just a suggestion....don't clean them...get Fabspeed dual exhaust flat black....and you might pleased.

I wonder if the mismatched front wheel is for a cayman or boxster. My buddy picked up a 2015 or 2014 cayman S with those wheels and his Platinum semi gloss wheels were lighter than mine on my 991. Noticeably. All of his were like your front mismatched wheels. Mine are like the rest on your car. Ask your dealer to look into this.

Yep, don't wash your wheels and let the brake dust permanently etch you rims - hey, but you will have wheels and exhaust pipes that color match!

The new front wheel is the right color. The rear looks dirty and covered with brake dust.

The original wheel cap doesn’t match the new wheel. They are different colors.

It is not brake dust. That is what I thought when they first put the new wheel on. The pictures attached are immediately after a full detail.

Sounds like you bought your car used. Do you have the original window sticker for your car to determine if it came with the satin gray wheels? If not, maybe the car came with silver wheels and the original owner had them painted, and the color he had them painted is not the same color Porsche uses.

This is a good theory.

Here is an image of a 2016 C2 the day I took delivery with platinum satin wheels. Sure looks like your left rear is spot on and the front left is the wrong color. Very strange indeed.
