I will wave to other 911’s and Boxsters/Caymans, and any of the earlier ‘sports’ car by Porsche. Not to the Pannies/Cayenne/Macans. The reply is pretty good here I would say 80+%. I do not do the headlight flash, as I think that is the ‘watch out a cop in near by’ signal.
If I pull up beside an Exotic, or a Classic at a stop light, and I will give them a thumbs up, and will say great car if the windows/top are down. The Classic drivers generally respond well and are thankful, the Exotic drivers not so much so.

I rode Harley's for years. The hand gestures (waves) crossed all manufacturers of motorcycles and was very common. In both of my Carreras however, I experience a much different scenario. I flash nearly every Pcar that comes my way and rarely get the reciprocal flash.

Also, someone else said that at times it doesn't register until the person has passed- I am guilty of that occasionally, too. Sometimes these thoughts is deep, man.

Haha we could probably use a couple purse and nail painting threads to offset the watch scotch and driveway posts to make this a place that women are actually interested in visiting. Or red wine threads that everyone can enjoy.
