I'm pretty happy with my 991.2 C2s. Only temptation might be a Turbo S, but really, my car makes enough power. I pulled in behind some sort of cool looking orange Lambo the other day. I love to look at those kind of cars but no interest in owning one. I had just finished ripping around on some back roads and just having a blast and was parking to buy groceries. That is what is so great about the 911. It is a fantastic sports car but had practical uses too.

Turbo S - the all-weather, do everything, can even pick up my parents from the airport supercar.

I also do love the look of the more exotic hyper cars - Lambos, Mclarens, V8 Ferrari berlinettas, Paganis, but the 911 is so versatile - it's like the vehicular incarnation of a Renaissance man.

Would sell only for a McLaren or Ferrari. but since I can't afford either, looks like I will be keeping my Porsche for a long time! But that's not a bad thing . . .

Can't think of a finer GT than my 2014 991S. I guess if I had to, I'd replace with a new 911S. All the performance I need, enough room for weekend or short trips, and exquisitely built. There truly is no substitute. McLarens, Ferraris, etc, are great, but just not as useful. I do have a Caterham 7 when I need the raw sports car experience.

If I ever have the means for machines like that; it will be in addition to and not to replace my 911. The Lotus Evora 400S is the sole competitor in the segment of performance, excitement and daily drivability; lacking only in reliability/support. Even if I had Ferrari money, it is a A to A car that is miserable on most public roads and would drive me nuts other than driving to drive on great roads.

I had a Lamborghini Huracan, and it was perfectly driveable every day. I put around 5k miles on it in a year and took it for a couple of road trips with luggage (minimal, obviously) and such. Modern supercars are pretty easy to live with, newer Ferraris are the same way. That said, I sold it because I needed rear seats for my kids, and honestly Porsches are just a lot more fun to drive.

I was just offered a .2 GT3 at MSRP out of the blue from a dealership I've never bought anything from, so it's not impossible. I immediately told him I'd take it, unfortunately some other sales guy had just gotten a deposit from a customer on it so I was just a little too late. My sales guy at another dealership thinks he can get me one this year at MSRP.

I can't imagine trading out our Porsches for anything other than Porsches. My problem is that I wouldn't want to actually part with mine. I feel like I'd want to just add to to the stable! The kiddo wants a supercar (out of budget), but they really have no appeal for me. The 911 has always been my dream car & now that we're there, it continues to fulfill expectations & I'm not interested in looking at anything else.

You can tell yourself this (and us too) but how would you know if you have never owned one? My F430 is definitely NOT miserable on most public roads, it's an absolute blast. I take it to grocery stores, Home Depot, Costco, etc.. I could say that it is no fun in a traffic jam but what car is?

I had a 360 and a 355. Considered a 430 - went 911.

I wish there was something else but I see nothing that would motivate me to move on from my current car.

My base 991.1 is exactly what I want, NA engine with more than enough power to get into trouble with, Manual trans, not many buttons on the center console, no gimmicks.

My motivations are different though , as the industry changes for I feel the worse and as the number of desirable new cars dwindle, I'm faced with the realization that the car I currently own may have to suffice for the next 10-20 + years. This means the less stuff it has to break the more likely it will be able to last without massive headaches.

DI Turbo engines working incredibly hard , rear steering , active engine mounts , front axle lift suspension etc. All need to be considered as items that may prove a massive headache down the road. Add in the potential for future hybrid and you basically have a car with an expiration date stamped on it.....
