Why are there model groups for every Porsche series 911 except 991?

Last edited by deadlivingthing; 02-07-2018 at 12:32 PM. Reason: Rephrasing the question

Use the member classified and for sale forum sections above, not the topic areas like this.....

As a paid Rennlist member, you have that posting privilege. And you can cross post here too. People cross list items all the time in the Tech Forums.

Dude, you didn't just "rephrase the question" when you edited your post - you completely changed what you are asking, making post 2 and 3 (responses to your original post) kind of confusing.

Porsche 911's have always had internal model codes to represent that actual design version version of the car. The model name/number has been 911 for over 50 years but the internal codes have been 901, 912, 964, 993, 996, 997 and now 991. The next generation is the 992 (supposedly).

If you cruise around this or other message boards you will find the posts grouped by model codes - not just for the current 991.

Well didn't you figure it out? It's really not that confusing, no need to be whiney about absolutely nothing.

Yes, yes. That’s the attitude that will get people to buy stuff from you!
