Default Wireless CarPlay?

Is it possible to enable wireless CarPlay in 991.2? Alpine and Pioneer now sell aftermarket wireless CarPlay systems. Was wondering if anyone explored converting USB docked CarPlay in a 991.2 to a wireless system based on Bluetooth and WiFi.

Unfortunately you cannot. There's a proprietary Apple certification needed for wireless CarPlay. I'm sure it's coming as a revision with Porsche in the next couple of years, especially since BMW introduced it in 2017. Doubtful it will be an update though. Dealer will probably just tell you to buy a new P-Car, lol.

It works well in BMW while my iPhone just sits in the charging tray.

Agreed. Wireless charging and wireless CarPlay is probably the thing I miss the most from my M2. Other than that, the 911 is superior in all ways!!!
