Default Sold my 991.1/Short List to Replace

Ok, so I sold my Black 2015 991.1, that I bought in February 2017 with 3,000 miles. Was able to recoup my down payment and more in the sale.

Short list to replace:

2018/2017 991.2 (White, GT Silver, or Graphite Blue)
2018 Panamera
2018 BMW 540i/m5501
2018 Range Rover Sport

Let's hear it. Also, any GT Silver or Graphite Blue 911 owners, please post pictures here.

Such different cars. Based on the driving you do - I'd vote land rover.

+1 on the Range Rover Sport. Sold my '14 911 back in Oct. Just picked up a highly optioned '16 Sport at love it... Actually feel better in it (smile factor) than I did the Porsche. Had an early Sport from '08 - '12 and it was the best car I've owned. Every car I've owned since then had not given me as much joy as the Sport (except the Ferrari..)

Maybe I can help. I have a graphite blue 991.2 S w/ 7MT and just got my wife an M550i and my family car is the full sized Range Rover HSE (not sport so can't help here). If it's your daily driver I'd recommend the m550i....this thing is a BEAST. The V8 sounds terrific, fast as heck, tech is probably one of best in the market, and has plenty of room. Looks are subjective but I also think the m550i looks great! The RR is my daily and if it weren't for my 3 kids, I'd get the new M5. Having said that, I smile every time I drive the 911 but it just can't be a daily, especially w/ a 7MT.

I daily a .2 GTS with 7MT. I used to daily a 340xi 6MT m-sport so I can only imagine how beastly the m550i must be. Probably a good choice as well. Not much of an SUV guy. I have a Macan but pretend it is not an SUV.

As mentioned in your for sale add I loved your 991.1 -- sport techno wheels on .1 are best 911 wheels IMO.

good luck with whatever you choose.

Since only one of those choices could be called a sports car (and therefore by, my definition fun and engaging) the choice is easy. I can't see how a 5000lb SUV could be even remotely fun. But then again I have no issues driving my MT 911.2 GTS.

Many many pictures of GT silver cars on the "show me your GTS" thread. It is a classic but conservative color, and hides dirt well. I have it, almost too conservative for my taste. Graphite Blue also conservative. Be sure that's what you'd want.

this post is confusing because I have no idea what you are buying a car for?

I have a 991 and a RR sport. I use them for 2 totally different things.

If I only could have one car to use and it needed it to do everything I would probably consider the new Panamera or the Audi RS7. is that the dilemma? the RR sport is cool but its no sports car.

BMW has found it's stride again. the 5 series is a great looking car, lighter on it's feet with a hellacious power plant and great tech. if anything in the sport sedan segment was close (Audi is making great cars in this segment too) i would be surprised.

I’d also add the Macan to the list set up right it’s a contender,in the mix. Rent a RR sport and really didn’t like,it when I compared to the wife’s daily a SQ5

Mine happens to be a bunch of bu11$h!t. I love my range rover, but will be trading it in on my 911- mostly bc I don't like dealing w my local jag/land rover dealer. It feels like a crappy toyota dealer. No dis to good toyota dealers out there.

A recent commercial for the newly revamped Lincoln Navigator looked interesting, and positioned to go against the RR.

^^^ +1,000,000. We have a 2015 LR4 (custom ordered) - We previously had a 2005 LR3 (also custom ordered) - and if I never have to set foot in the LR dealership again I'll be a happy man. Tata could learn a lot just from the local neighborhood used car salesman about how to run a delearship. And don't get me started on the atrocity that is a LR service department. $900 oil change (that isn't really an oil change, just an inspection and service minder reset) really?

Luckily we have a !great! LR indy here - where all the factory trained refugees from corporate end up after they've done their time.

We have 911s, sedans and an SUV as choices listed. We are missing trucks. Ford Raptor?
