UPDATE: install of the NM Automotive from Nick was performed on Friday by California Car Sounds in Campbell.
The unit itself arrived only a couple of days after ordering and was nicely packaged.
Dropped the car off mid-morning and it was ready in the afternoon - everything went very smoothly.
My wife picked up the car and they walked her through its operation. Wife was concerned it would be hard to use / figure out but she said it was super easy and had no problems.
i finally got a look at it this morning. Looks great, waze works perfectly, all other operations including XM and rear camera are fully functional.

Yes, will be the answer. The kits we supply include the appropriate studs to allow Sirius XM to be maintained. Removing Sirius XM will in a number of cases result in no radio sound at all and we strongly advise to leave Sirius XM installed.

Based off your recommendation, I had California Car Sounds in Campbell also do my Carplay retrofit. Car is a 2013 991.1 Carrera w/ Bose Speaker System. They also installed the backup camera kit that comes from Nick with the Carplay kit. It's been working really well, but only had a chance to use it for a day so far. Install was pretty quick, dropped in at 9am, picked the car up at 430. Backup camera is awesome to have as it's hard to judge the back end of the 911. The kit works really well, almost like its built into the car as a standard thing, the only thing missing is multitouch, but it's not a big deal. I keep my phone mounted on the passenger side center vent with a short USB cable to plug into the phone from the glove box, looks nice and clean and doesn't impede the cup holder. I'll post a pic later. The right dial also works to control the CarPlay system which is awesome! So do the map and navi buttons.
They ended up installing the mic to the right of the steering wheel, it's very well hidden, hard to see.
