Default Water off a duck's back

Winter driving = slop, salt, brown slush.
No problem though....
Great winter car!

I think we passed each other ‘round 12:45. How many blue 991 cabs are running around in the slush?

Nice attitude--these cars are meant to be driven. And washed.

Although the last time I did that (a few weeks ago) my driveway surface was below freezing, even though the air was a bit warmer. By the time I was done, I was sliding on a small skating rink around the car.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit....I have a 991.1 that has never been driven in the rain and sits indoors from October to April. I envy you that you don't seem to worry about salt and corrosion and stone chips.
I has a 996 C4 18 years ago and did drive it in the winter. It literally looked like **** after the 2nd winter. Drove pretty well in snow but I wil never do tht again to a 911. Maybe a Panamera though....

+1

I froze my *** off last week and was slipping on the ice but it felt good to get the car shining. Mine is sitting outside the office right now, despite the cold, pot holes and salt. Third time this week I have had her out and yet to see another 911 on my travels (which in the warmer months would be unusual).

Wow. I just can't relate to this. My 2018 C4 would look the same as the OP's but it is white.

paint protection film tech and surface coatings have come a long way in 18 years.

Just saying.

You bought it. Use it!

If the temperature is in the plus column, i'll wash it at the bottom of the driveway and then throw some salt on the area if the temperature is dropping at night.
There is also Griots waterless car wash which works well with their proper microfibre cloths.
According to the Porsche dealer, these cars are fine in the winter as they are galvanized aluminum, plastic etc. and don't rust.
With the four-wheel-drive, (& winter tires of course) accelerating on a snowy uphill road from a dead stop is no problem.
Accelerating out of curves is easy and sure footed in the snow.

I'm still trying to find the right balance on this. I am not inclined to drive my GTS 10 minutes each way to the train station in the snow to park it and let it get door dings, etc. But I also don't want to keep it parked for the whole winter. So far, as long as the roads are fairly clean (meaning a minimum of salt) and dry, I drive it. I just can't tolerate looking at it all winter and not driving it.

I'm in the exact same boat.

I simply can't sit there all winter without driving it.
