Default Opinion on PPI ??

Folks - I have attached a PPI report on a 2014 C4S that I am looking to make a deal on. The over-rev part looks very good, but I am unsure why a bunch of the diagnostics on the second and third page were not competed (maybe I needed to ask explicitly for them to be done?). And there are some fault codes on page 9 that I can't find much information on by googling.

I would appreciate any opinions on this PPI...

I have just added an almost-impossible-to-read second document they sent me with details of other stuff they looked at. I am really not impressed that they feel this is appropriate for an inspection report....

Thanks folks

If that is all you got..... that is one worthless PPI report.

How about visual inspection notes and pictures.

I wouldn't worry about the tests that didn't complete, but I'd surely ask the shop what those fault codes mean. They should know.

I did - and they are all pretty trivial. two were moving the car without the door completely latched, two more were low remote battery, one was the driver trying to drive with parking brake engages, and last on even the service manager could not understand, something about the AC being in normal mode and not sport...

and Mr. CSK - they have promised to send me the other stuff they did on the inspection, brake & tire condition etc etc etc. I am not expecting any photos. They are a new dealership and i have to admit were not very well organized to do a PPI..

Lex - it is a private sale, we just took it to the dealer for what was supposed to be a PPI...

And manual transmission

I added the Porsche build sheet and CarFax

I had a trusted independent Porsche guy here in Houston have a look at all the documents, and he liked what he saw. The deal is agreed, and we'll be heading to Florida to pick the car up this weekend.

This is a replacement for my 2013 C2S that Hurricane Harvey took from me - so I guess I will be posting a "reintroduction" thread next week.....

Looks like a pretty good car. When I get my 'T' this spring we'll should get together and go for a drive / tell Harvey war stories :-)

GLWP next week!

Great enjoy the car.

I would like to ask who is the best source to execute a PPI for a 991.2 demo car. The Porsche dealer has the car or a 3rd party garage?

I believe PPI cannot be hacked therefore even the local dealer who is selling the car needs to just issue the PPI report.

I would appreciate if you confirm my understanding as I am ready to buy a demo 991.2 German edition with the options I had in my initial build except the colour. I wanted GT gray and the car is black. I might wraph it in a unigue mat color as soon as I get it.

Thanks

Sounds like a great idea. What part of town as you in? We are in Katy/Cinco Ranch.
Harvey and the months since have been more than interesting. We are hoping to be back in the house in the April/May timeframe.

It must be tough waiting on the car - do you have a target delivery date yet??

Target is Mid March - but plus or minus a week or two is the usual case.

PM sent.

A PPI should only be performed at a dealer as a last resort IMO. Much better is to find a trusted local Porsche specialist shop. The way to find one is to contact the local PCA chapter representative and ask for advice.

Default Paint meter reading

Never get a PPI at the dealer where you are purchasing. Also insist a PPI have a paint meter reading on all metal body panels. Dealer try not to share this info but be ready yo walk away if you get the wrong reading.
