991 GTS wheel swap 20" for 19" winter tires
I have a 2016 911 GTS coupe w center lock wheels, that I was wondering if you could swap out the 20" summer wheels/tires for 19" winter tires and wheels. I know Porsche only sells 20" but 19" , from 997 would be better for the winter given the less than par roads we have in PA. Does anyone know if there are any issues?

Yes, you can. Tire rack offers these as 19" winter sets in both 5 lug and CL. They also fit on the 991.2 GTS coupe as long as you don't have RAS.

I just picked up a 2019 Carrera 4GTS Targa today. But I’m thinking about the winter just like you were.
I would like to put a 19 inch wheels and tires for the winter in Chicago, and wondering about your experience.
I do not want to go through the hassle of switching tires on the existing wheels.

I have a 15 GTS cab, run 19s for my track wheels, should be an issue to run winters instead, may even think about doing that.

I bought a full set of winter wheels from Porsche specifically for the GTS. They are the Turbo S wheels. Center locks as well. I may be interested in selling just the wheels. If interested let me know.

I would be, but I am a low mileage driver and tire rack does offer 20 inch center locks balanced the tire pressure sensors etc
How much are you looking for. I have a set of 19 inches wheels with snows that I used on my 2014 911 that i was going to sell

I would have to see how much I paid for them, feel free to PM me and we can discuss this privately.
That being said, only the Turbo S wheels are spec'ed by Porsche to be "correct hem" for a winter set up.
For what its worth, any wheels that fit should work, but that is the only wheel set up Porsche recommends.

Since this got bumped....
I do not understand the big heavy 20” wheel w/ no sidewall on performance cars today? A nice 19” wheel would be better, lighter, and could still have room for breaks and RWS, if designed properly. A 20” standard on most models is absurd, IMO. Rant over......
