I’ve owned caymans and boxsters. Both great cars, but I’d sooner **** in my own eye then buy a 4 banger modern Porsche. They have practically ruined the cayman with that engine. In my humble opinion of course

^ they said the same thing with turbo charging the 991.2 Carrera lineup and to be quite honest the 3.0 engine is a masterpiece IMO.. always good to have an open mind!

OP - glad you made the switch, all that matters is you are happy as its your hard earned money. Great looking spec

Many of "they" still say that about the 3.0.

It's not really about open mindedness (maybe to some), to some of us, we just don't appreciate or find one and/or other of the new smaller turbo motors to our tastes; be it auditory, emotional, throttle or powerband feel, etc. related. Performance/statistical wise, their perks can't be disputed. But if power or especially "torque" was all I cared about, I'd get a Model S with Ludicrous mode (talk about open mindedness! ).

The 3.0 in the 991.2 has a slight whistle from the two small turbos but otherwise I can't fault it. The 718S 2.5 flat 4 has one big turbo and does sound a bit rough. I suspect the base 718 with 2.0 and smaller turbo is probably smoother!
