you sure? if the weight of the pdk is ~40 pounds... then a LSD only weighs ... 12 pounds? ...

its interesting that inspite of different gear ratios, lack of PTV and the lighter implied weight of the manual, the PDK version has 0-60 time is so wide.

Makes me think there more missing under skin.

The ONLY person you need to satisfy when you buy a 911 is yourself!

+!

The difference in acceleration from manual to PDK is not due to weight. It is due to how fast you can change gears via PDK vs manual. Also remember that a PDK always has the next gear already engaged before switching to the other shaft, which takes less than 0.2 seconds. Try shifting gears that fast yourself...

I'm fully aware of how a double clutch works since it was explained in 1989 when Ferrari introduced it in formula 1.... Which is why I got one....it took almost 30 years but im using the same tech....

I got RAS with PDK.
on my previous Track car I replaced the Mechanical diff with a clutch plate OS Giken. Weight in LSD varies but but PDK is heavier. I wonder if the Manual car would be a tad sharper than the pdk in the bends. In a straight line PDK is always faster due to quick shift and downshifts so much quick when you punch it.
Both a great options but there are tradeoffs.
In the S you can keep the LSD and PTV with PDK but with the T you lose them - Porsche know best ... as to Why?

I've been driving MT cars for over 40 years and never have to pay so much attention to shifting and what specific gear I am in or about to be in. The MT7 in the 991 is not intuitive at all, I think Porsche was aware of this, that's why the car comes with a gear indicator. I've never needed one in any of my other cars but it is clearly a requirement in this one.

My opinions only, YMMV.
Have to agree - Drove a Carrera S and Manual and I gates are really close and 7 gears is 1 too many. I did miss a gear once as gates are so close. Also put in reverse once by mistake - not at speed.
But got used to it in 10minutes and would easily get used to all the quirks as a daily driver. 1st two gears are short in the T and 3 is pretty tall (102mph tall). Mine would hardly see 6/7 gears for my local driving. 5th would be a stretch.

I got three of the four right, just missing the PCCB. I found my T “preowned”, I’m happy with the way it was optioned, though I could have done without the 18 ways. I prefer the simple manual sport seat. I set it and forget it, since I’m the only one who drives it.

Mine does and it is for sale if someone is REALLY regretting the non-PCCB decision.
