PCM stopped recognizing my iPhone
2015 991.1 GTS with an iphone7. i removed and changed out my lightning cord and i also pulled the fuse to restart the PCM. says "usb item can not be identified" it allows me to play music, i just can't control anything when i'm connected. the funny thing is that the bluetooth works perfectly
anyone else experience this issue? |
Have you tried rebooting your iPhone?

iOS 11 is causing havoc on our phone to car connections :(
|
Try holding in the on/off/volume button for about 15-20 seconds to re-boot the PCM.

Yes I did that and I even pulled the fuse for a hard reset. Still nothing. I think joec500 is right. It may be an apple issue. Stinks.

There have been at least two updates to ios 11 since it came out - latest is 11.1.2 - so you might want to try that.

11.1.2 had a bunch of updates for iphoneX that don't apply to my 7, but I will try it out. |
Unpair your phone from the car, be sure to leave the cable unplugged also, update to IOS 11.3 version, restart phone at least once after the the IOS restart. Plug in your phone first with the cable and connect. If that doesnt work, you may need to rollback to IOS 11.0 without updates as that may possible cause an issue for your USB plug connection. Repair the phone for BT connetivity.

Bluetooth connection is fine, it's the USB that has issues, which started with ios 11. The last time it worked perfect was ios 10.x
think i have to probably get the PCM software flashed |
