Default How much is a Rebuilt Title 991 worth

Aprox how much is a 2012 Carrera 991, sports chrono package, 34K miles, white on black leather worth? Considering of course the fact that it’s been fixed/rebuilt properly and has no issues what’so ever.

This is just a scenario. Let’s say a professional body, front tub needed work. And checked out by certified Porsche shop/dealer.

So it’s a salvage title or other branded title?

Or just a car with an accident on it and a normal title?

Like at least $20K under what the car would be selling for at a dealer or private party. A salvage title car is near impossible to sell.

Keep the car for a long time and a keeper? Go for it.

Short answer: Not much

Buy this and it will be the hardest car to re-sell you have ever owned. If you do get one, be prepared to keep it a very long time. Be aware that banks and credit unions will not make loans or re-built cars or lemon law buy-backs, they are poison.

I wouldn't buy it unless the repair is completely documented ..... pictures, measurements, parts list, and a complete inspection.

Even then I wouldn't pay over 50% of what ever value that car would have been if it wasn't wrecked.

Salvage title 991 or a nice 997.2? I know what I'd pick.

I think the issue is that most people just would never consider buying one. I know I wouldn't.

It's the sort of car where if it is a good enough deal for you personally, and you're fine with either keeping it forever or selling it potentially at a huge loss down the road, then go for it!

This is a big assumption.

A salvage title is issued when the insurance company determines that the car is either not repairable or it costs more to repair than it's worth. By definition a car with a rebuilt title has "issues."

If it's not repairable then you are buying a lemon. Cars that are flood damaged are not repairable, nor are cars with frame damage outside of certain limits. This is because when metal is bent it becomes fatigued, and will fail at lower loads.

If the repair costs are higher than the car is worth then whoever repaired it (and obtained the rebuilt title) likely took some major shortcuts.
