Learned something new today - I did not know the 991.2 GT3 has launch control as part of sport chrono. But I still don't think 991.2 Carrera models have it. Maybe I'm wrong, check with dealer tech (not sales advisor).

If I had to do it again, I would have gotten Sports Chrono over Sports Exhaust. I miss SC from my previous car.

My 2 cents:

Have a 7MT didn't get it and wouldn't. Even on a PDK you have to get some pricey suspension options before the modes are doing much for you. They call it a wart because it's ugly. Overpriced stop watch IMO.

Question: If you have sport chrono with a manual trans - can you over-rev on a downshift when you have the sport plus on?

Of course. No electronics is going to stop that because the wheels will be mechanically linked to the engine.

It certainly won't protect you from a missed upshift.

i.e. 3rd -> 2nd when you meant to go hit 4th. (the dreaded money shift)

It happens....

I wouldnt get it unless i was tracking a lot. Kind of useless stuff if you're driving on city roads.

Firmer mounts improve reduce engine movement, and therefore enhance chassis response. On some cars there can be a significant CG change as the engine rotates.

My experience with other cars is the soft mounts wear out much quicker, especially if tracking the car. One day you'll start hearing a clunking sound while coming to a stop--that's the sound of the engine slapping against the frame because the mount cracked.

To what degree this is an issue in a 911 I'm not sure. I also can't tell a difference between the different modes in my car, but there's not much downside to firmer mounts other than some increased vibration.

I understand/knew most of that. Just not necessary for street use is what i was getting at. You'd have to work pretty hard to break a motor mount in a 911 Iwould imagine. Broke more than one in my 1983 Scirocco!

Default Dynamic motor mounts

Sports exhaust cost 1K to add after the fact, there is no way to add SC with a reasonable budget. SC cars will hold value better in the long run as it is an option that affects performance (S, power kit, sunroof delete, etc). To me the dash looks bare without it, especially if you have the cheap looking base steering wheel.

Actually it does protect from the money shift.

For lack of a better term, the auto rev feature on the MT anticipates your gear selection, and before you fully engage the gear, the RPMs increase. So if you are paying attention, the inappropriately very high rev's will alert you to quickly depress the clutch pedal and reselect the gear.

It is very noticeable and has saved my transmission from a potentially devastating money shift twice. Once coming off the back straight at Mont Tremblant, and once coming very fast off the interstate to a tight off ramp.

No....it is not.
But with an AccessPort from Cobb Engineering/Tuning, you can flash the PDK with it's own unique "Launch Control"...aka "Race Start"....that most Cobb retailers (like FabSpeed) will do for you.
