ok fine, in the frunk

Although I better pull 'em out of there tonight. I don't want that extra weight up front slowing me down when I head through the Starbucks drive-through!

Keep the old ones in the frunk and brag that you're running a quad turbo setup. Most people won't even know the difference

Congrats on the upgrade.

Can't wait to hear how it performs. Love that carbon fiber plaque.
Does anyone think the lowly, base C2 (without PSE and SC) will ever be worthy of a Powerkit?

There’s nothing lowly or base about any 911, don’t say that!
To answer your question, I doubt it. If Porsche were smart tho, they’ll sell you a performance kit that at minimum gets you to the S level

porsche likes having a higherarchy and reason to get you to upgrade. The ECU has been cracked by a couple tuners. Just a matter of time before the aftermarket responds. Of course no warranty... but at least there will be options.

Indeed, and in this case those options will likely be more reliable than they are with most other tuned engines, because the 991.2 engines--from base to GTS--appear to be identical except for their turbochargers. But I'll still probably wait until my warranty expires before taking the plunge.

I'm kind of glad. Slower is better where we live.

These cars in either trim are "too much car" for our public roads. I hit 40 in 1st gear in order to hear the engine roar in the upper RPMs...
Besides the base .2 is a fast as a .1 GTS so your car isn't slow.
Play on highway ramps and hope for the best but prepare for the worst...

Or move away from Prius country. Out West there're more open roads, and opportunities to let our cars express themselves.

Homeless,
What dealer did you have do the work? My dealer in Wilmington can't even quote it. Did you buy the kit from Suncoast or did the dealer provide?

I missed the Suncoast sale - and I can't speak for Homeles - but in my case my local dealer's price was pretty good: $6959 for parts and installation (plus 10% on both the parts and labor - yeah, that tax is steep in Washington, but there's no income tax so yay).

The techs wound up burning a lot of unexpected time troubleshooting a DME update failure when they were coding it for X51. And they couldn't roll it back to original, either. After lots of back and forth sending videos of the issue to Porsche tech support they eventually replaced the DME to get it to work, but I wasn't asked to pay for that labor - or that new part. I was out of town at the time and had dropped off the car for the upgrade, so it didn't impact me at all.
