1. Carrera T (has all the goodies already included: PSE, SPASM, Sport Chrono, PTV, Limited Slip Diff)
2. Full leather interior. (That's where you spend most of your time, so I wanted it to be more enjoyable)
3. Rear Axle Steering (Wonderful for tight U turns and stability on the highway)
4. Front Axle Lift (would not want SPASM without it, use it every day!)
5. Glass Sunroof (Love the light it brings to the cabin, and the black roof over GT Silver looks fantastic!)
And Lane Change Assist! Yes, I know how to position the mirrors, and yes, I can move my head around, thank you, but I don't have good night vision, and driving at night it is a great safety device since it helps me gauge much better the distance of the vehicle behind me while changing lanes. During the day is a nice to have, but for me, at night, it is a must have. Would not buy a car without it.

To 'borrow' some of Alex's post:
1. Carrera T (has all the goodies already included: PSE, SPASM, Sport Chrono, PTV, Limited Slip Diff)
2. Leather Carrera T interior with unique T items including deviated stitching, door pulls and seat belts in Racing Yellow to match my RACING YELLOW T!
3. Rear seats, as this is my sole car and I have my daughters with me on occasion
4. PCM as being a daily driver, I use the sat nav & radio etc (UK build)
5. Heated steering wheel. Suffer from cold hands & would always add this item to my spec now

As a long time, repeat 911 owner, my perspective is probably a little different. I'm also not really a die-hard Porsche guy, we also have a vintage Mercedes SL, couple of ancient MG's & Triumph's, etc... The 911 is my daily driver. Not tracked, because we have dedicated actual race cars for that duty.
Not having an unlimited budget, and the variety of other fun cars to support, I value reasonable running costs, as well as acquisition costs.

Thus:
- Newest model at a "reasonable for me" price.
- PDK
- Coupe w/sunroof.
- White or blue only...
- Full service history.
- Enthusiast owned.

I wanted to keep it simple:
1: pdk...
2: black interior
3: white or silver exterior
4: sunroof (preferably metal)
5: sport design steering wheel
the only option I wish I had was sport exhaust but not a huge deal

Keeping it simple too and low key. Plus needed to not irritate the Mrs on a spend that was out of control. Must haves were:
1. MT
2. Bose
3. Glass roof
4. Premium pks
5. Vented seats
Wouuld have loved the SC and PSE, but even 4 years ago, supply was tight and could not get an allocation for a custom build. I wanted new, not pre-owned.
The C2 can get me into almost as much trouble as a GTS or S, I am not a track rat - so very happy with my choice 4 years later without all the go fast goodies.

Very model specific, but for a 991.2 Carrera:
Standard equipment kept: 7MT
Standard equipment kept: No sunroof
Top 5 options:
