Advice needed on painting wheels on 991.2 C
Hi All. This is my first post. I just traded my 15 Boxster S in for a barely pre-owned 17 C2S. I am thrilled. The car has everything I would have ordered myself except the wheels. The car is GT Silver with Red/Black interior. The wheels are 20 Carrera S in silver. I think they don’t look great.
I am am getting the car this week.
In Atlanta we gave a number of rim shops that do excellent work. I am going to have them painted. I’m struggling with Satin black, gloss black or platinum. What do you all think might look the best without being too flashy?
Any example pics would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Congrats on the new car. Drive it for a few weeks before you decide to paint the wheels. No rush. Enjoy.

I'd like to do this too. I'd go satin black or platinum. My experience with gloss black is that brake dust is more obvious that on satin.
Post pics after you get them repainted.

If you don't come up with sample pics that you like, take some pictures of your car the way it is and find a friend who knows how to use Photoshop. Then you can sample anything you want.

Every car has dark wheels nowadays it's a huge fad. In a decade it'll be just like chrome wheels, spinners, fake wood siding, or a million other ugly fads that have come and gone. I say stay with the classy silver that will always look good instead of chasing the latest fashions that come and go.

OP may not have the car 10 years from now. OP may be dead by then for all we know.
Buy and do what makes you happy now. Live for tomorrow when it gets here.

I agree with Lex (post #2) as well. I have stain black HREs and they are great. I have gloss black AG 510 on my SQ5 and they are brutal to keep clean. Drive one block and you can see the dust. Getting my Porsche OEM wheels painted matte/satin black for winter as a result.
Also, if your window trim is black it is satin i believe.
