Default OEM car alarm keeps going off in the afternoon

The oem car alarm keeps going off in my 2013 Cab in the afternoon. It is more common if I don't leave the windows cracked. So I suspect it related to heat build up in the car vs shadows across the sensors. If anyone else had this problem could you tell me what the solution was? I am taking my car into the dealer next week to have it looked at but the service guy suggested I was just leaving the passenger door open. I want to have them look at specific things and not fixate on whether ghosts are opening my passenger side door. So I am trying to get together a list of things that it could be.

Any signs of water intrusion? Left top open in rain? Clogged drains? AC drain not clogged?

Other thoughts are a weak failing battery.

I live in SF Bay Area. We haven't had rain since Spring. That doesn't mean the damage wasn't done during that time. The first time this problem started happening was in mid-June when we had a heat wave.

I haven't experienced any issue with the battery.
