Thumbs up 2018 991 C-4 S Front License Plate Bracket

I recently purchased a new 2018 C-4 S. The dealer wanted to drill the bumper skin and add a plastic license plate bracket. I told them no and started looking for a bracket that would not affect my "park assist" sensors.

A company called Mower Deck Axle Company (607-863-4208) in New York solved the problem for me. I purchased the 2017 Cayman 718 bracket. It drops the plate below the park assist sensors. The company then provided a longer "991" stud (apparently the Cayman stud is shorter). Once assembled, the plate sits a few inches below the sensors. It looks good and is well constructed.

When placing your order, ask for Larry who will make sure you get the longer 991 stud for your order.

Was given a warning in 1998.
Otherwise no problems-

I was stopped at a traffic light in a local town that I drive through often. An officer was stopped at the same light coming the opposite way, he pulled up beside me and reminded me that although he knows it doesn't look good, it's the law and needs to be put on. I told him I would get it put on.

When I'm driving locally, since this has happened a couple of times, I may just pop it on. In any case I'll keep it in the car and if stopped, suggest that I forgot to put it back on when I cleaned the car, and put it on right then and there. Decent chance that will work with the right demeanor...

Just don't need another reason to get the attention of the local Gendarmes.

Same here. Also great when parked to keep the meter maid at bay...

I have been driving in California with my last 3 cars having no front plates. Total 8yrs and 1 week = 1 ticket by a meter maid when I parked on the street, while on a date. Fix it ticket and paid $10 after showing the front plates mounted to an officer with double sticky tape. Took it off the next day.

Same here, I got the US Millworks one that goes in the tow hook and have it on a shelf in the garage if I need to go get another fix it ticket fixed. Just a small hassle, way better than having ugly front plates.

I have never been a fan of the off-center tow hook solution. It always looked just wrong to me.

The cool thing about the magnetic solution is that it takes all of 2 seconds to put on or take off. I've always wanted to give it try since I saw a thread about it from 2010 over on 6Speed (thanks Justatoy!). When I ordered my GTS I immediately started planning for it. I'm very happy with the result!
