Who is ready to swap out of their 991 for a GT3T?

OP, unless you already have a GT3 allocation or are ready to pay a big premium to a dealer for an allocation, I'd tone down my excitement. Sadly.

anyway, I'm out on this due to no back seats. Honestly this version makes little sense to me. Why take out some of the gt3-ness by removing the aero and luxing up the interior a bit and not offer back seats? It cannot be that hard to do. Hell, make it optional if you want even.
because of that, im sticking with my 991.1s. I like sharing the car with my baby boy and will continue to. Shame, the new gt3 is phenomenal.

How many model years will this GT3 be?
2018
2019
2020??
Or will it end in 2019 since 2019 will supposedly be the first model year for the 992 and Porsche typically overlaps by a year.

I like the GT3T, but also like the 991.2 GTS. It would be a tough choice.
Here is an article on the GT3 Touring, for those who have not seen -

I can't figure out the motivation of PAG. They cannot meet the demand for the current GT3, why introduce another cog in the production wheel? Perhaps this is all about teaching the 911R flippers a hard lesson.

Seems the more I learn about it, the more I want to hold onto my GTS.

Isn't this limited by time? I don't think the previous GT3's were limited production either. The supply naturally or artificially can't keep up with the demand.

Same story as last time.

No back seats, no sale.
(Especially at this time in my life, as the only hole a 991 fits in my life is one that requires it to have back seats. Do like that the Touring exists, however.)

All the information released so far would say this is absolutely not true. U.S. dealers were given their second round of allocations a few weeks ago and were told that there will be no more allocations forthcoming for the remainder of the production run, except for a few reserved for sales awards, etc. Dealers were given their allocations for the entire production run, through the end of 2018 production. Multiple Rennlist dealer sponsors have confirmed this. Unless Porsche is lying to dealers, anyone who doesn't already have an allocation is going to find it difficult to impossible to secure one without paying an ADM.

I'm considering it. Well, at least in concept. Won't pay a penny in ADM so that alone probably means I won't be sold one. But if I did get a .2 GT3 it would probably be the touring. It just looks better without the boy racer wing and I hate alcantara anyway. I have zero interest in a .2 GTS with turbos and will probably just keep my .1S in that case.

(Using US model years):
996 GT3 was 2004/5, even though 997 released in 2005
996 Turbo ran through 2005.
996 GT2 was 2002-2005.
3.2 Carrera 2 available through 1989, with 964 Carrera 4 available 1989.
930 3.3 Turbo still available in 1989 after 964 released.
I doubt they'll do that anymore (Porsche is a much different company than they were in 2005) but it would be cool if they kept selling 991 GT3s till the 992 GT3 was ready.
