What if Porsche introduce a N/A 3.0, 370 HP narrow body 991.2, would you get one?
Rumors has it that this 911T might debut in Frankfurt and this 911T is not the same as the GT3 with touring package.

No... It sounds like they are trying to make a less expensive 911 to sell to people who want a new 911 without the 911 price tag. I really hope they don't do this but suspect that they might due to decline in sales. Offering the less expensive Boxster saved them once, perhaps they are trying it again. It would be sad to see them do it with the flagship model.

What if it was a stripper, 6 speed 911 with no options and 300 pounds lighter? oooooooh

They've made cheaper offerings through new models, not cheapening the 911. They have definitely come up with lots of ways to make the 911 more expensive.
This is an interesting take... Maybe they'll charge even more for this!

1 -- 300hp F4 turbo Boxster/Cayman
2 -- 350hp F4 turbo
3 -- 370hp F6 NA that's actually a good bit slower than the 350hp turbo because of torque deficiency
4 -- ???hp F6 4.0 NA 718 GT4
The customers for 1,2, and 4 are easy to understand:
1) wants a Porsche sportscar for as small a price as he can get it.
2) wants the fastest/cheapest Porsche sportscar he can get
4) wants the Motorsports Div track toy with big hp.
3) wants a more expensive normal Boxster with about the same speed as the 2.0 turbo 718, but with the elegance and old-school charm of a hard-working high-revving NA engine.
Yeah, I'd likely prefer 3, and you would as well. But the vast majority of peeps who want 3 would want 4 even more and find a way to buy 4.

Not sure where the leap to 3.0/370 as NA engine comes from?
I can easily see them doing a more sporting "Club Sport" based on the existing 3.0/370-hp 991.2 twin-turbo Carrera engine. That would help keep costs in check, and make for an interesting run-out model.

If it's cheap it sounds like a nice option. It's a tough one to figure out how to slot it though.

Hopefully this comment doesn't put the thread at risk of going down the toilet.... but if the turbo platform was so much better than the new GT3 would use it. Maybe a little slower to 60 (who cares) but is fun to wind out. It won't be long before a Carrera S #2 has more than 500hp with minimal mods making it "faster" than the Gt3 #2. I'm thinking a 370hp that revs to 9K, no nav, no PDCC, no PASM, no heated/cooled seats, no back seats in 911 trim, no leather. No cab, targa, sunroof option. 6 speed manual only, etc. (although we know Porsche loves their PDK...) hell, even no S brakes.
Which was where I questioned the ability of Porsche to economically make a 370hp 3.0, given that their "cheap" NA flat-sixes just two years ago made 350/3.4 (991) and 325/3.4 (981).

Okay, but Porsche couldn't even afford to put a 9k revving engine in the GT4; are you talking about a much, much more expensive top-of-the-line 718 variant to enable the use of ti con-rods, etc. with a bespoke engine? I thought you were talking about a cheaper flat-6 with the purpose of having a cheaper entry-level car.

I have an almost new S54 straight 6 with all the CSL intake goodies laying around that'll do 8700rpm all day. Maybe I need to put that in a 996? hahaha Similar torque characteristics of a F6.

All of the above with a 8K redline would still be epic. I'm just talking ideal. My ideal won't sell the volume Porsche would need to justify an ROI... it just satisfies my wants and requirements to consider a newer Porsche sports car unless I get a windfall and GT3 #2 allocation.
