Paint color story
2014 CARRERA S. Bought the car with 8k and 1 yr old. Recently did a session of auto cross and loved it. But, I clipped a cone that was a harder plastic than the rest of the cones and ahhhhh, it flipped up and made a scratch on the rear bumper. I assumed, I know, that the cars color was Pure White. Well no, that color has a little grey shading . Next I tried CARRERA White, too white. Frustrated and just a little OCD. Today took her in for scheduled maintenance and explained the color dilemma. He looked up the original delivery and wow, it's not a stock color. There was no place on the car where the color code was displayed. Turns out it's Pure White with 2 QQ,s at the end of the color code. My service advisor said he's never seen that color code. His computer says " White- White which he said must be a custom color order. ??? Anyway I felt better that i am not a complete idiot. He's having the paint shop mix up a small sample which is all I need as I am now an expert in application. I know, I should have gone to the dealer in the first place as my wife reminded me several times already. It's not easy being me.

Strange tale. But let's go step by step
to try to make sense of it.
A) It's a .1 991.
B) You tried 'Carrara White', like the
Italian Marble not like the Mexican race.
C) There should be a sticker somewhere
on your car or the service manual with
the exact color code of your car. Here is
the one for my 'Signal Green' gt3 with
color code 22S:
D) There are not many 'white' colors available
as PTS for the 991 models. None of the color
codes end in QQ.
But there is a 'grey' or 'gregio' that looks so
light it could be confused for 'white'. And it
ends in 99 which could be confused for QQ.
Let me know what the color finally ends up
being! Good luck!

Yes to a and b. I looked and so did the service advisor- no place is the color code. SA looked in car fax and porsche history and nothing shows about a repaint. I've had the car since December 2014. It was bought at same dealer December 2013. I've been over car many times for this and that and no way is it anything but orig paint color. SA looked at the delivery info in the Porsche computer and it shows a paint code he's not seen. It must be a custom color. So they will mix up a sample using that paint code and we'll see. I'll post results. Oh, I have small tubes of both poss whites ( not metallic) for 991.1 2014 and either too white or too dark. Nuts I know , possibly a built from another dimension. It does have a flux-capacitor which activates at 88mph.

Hasta la vista...
OK...
Doubt it's 2QQ. Paint to Sample is
not a regular option that is ordered
by mistake by an inept salesman. There
has to be a history of who ordered this
car & what he/she ordered at the dealer
that sold him/her this car. And you claim
it was done at the dealer you bought it
from. And PCNA must also have duplicate
records of it all.
There is something here that doesn't
make sense...with either your story
and/or the way this dealer is handling
your paint issue! But whatever. Good
luck!

What's the full paint code for "white-white"? Are you saying it's 0QQ?
Mine is plain "white" and the paint code is 0Q (maybe easily confused with "QQ") but when looking up paint codes online 0Q is cross-referenced with the C9A code for "pure white."

My car is a 2014 and is called "white". The paint code from both Dr. Color Chip and Eric at Bumperplugs is LC9A.
