BMC Air Filter on Amazon, 991.2

With all due respect I can't imagine anyone not named Schumacher or Hamilton would be able to feel the difference from these things. Have they been proven to add horsepower or torque? Why wouldn't Porsche have done it in the first place?

Three Wheelin'
They do in fact add a couple (2-5?) more HP and the butt dyno will definitely pick it up. In reality the only tangible benefit is an noticeable increase in the intake sound. I've used K&N filters on all my cars for years except my GTS with PSE.

Thanks for sharing.
They have 3 left now....and price went up slightly to 145 shipped.
Just picked one up for my incoming 991.2 GTS.

Just ordered as well!
I definitely think there's an increase with these filters vs the paper, especially if you're planning on running software.
Its not going to be an immediately noticeable power bump, but they've been proven to increase flow.

Mine just arrived. 15hp increase with the box closed!
Jokes aside, the gain shouldn’t be that noticeable, but I know from prior cars that the noise tone gets fairly interesting

I have also received mine. Now, I am debating if I should install it myself or just spend some $$$ and let the dealer do the job. I got a quote for 1-2hr at $159/hr (Canadian) and I believe with their proper tools and knowledges, it should be a job that can be done within an hour.
Has anyone removed their .2 rear bumper yet, it looks a bit different around the area where bolts are holding the tail lights. Other than that, it seems quite straight forward.

I removed the bumper cover and to my unpleasant surprise, the air box is further in, connected to a multitude of pneumatic plastic pipes. I may be wrong, but it seems that the wing gotta come out, which was not necessary on the 991.1.
I stopped there as I know how easy is to throw an yellow code from one of those, so I’ll pay someone to install it... maybe someone more adventurous and competent could be successful. I gave up.

Not quite. They added 3 screws hidden behind the wheel arch cover, making it further complicated.

I’m not so sure if the dealer will accept under warranty to install it.
